Co-produced and mixed by Benny Grotto (Ben Folds, Magnetic Fields, Amanda Palmer, Ballroom Thieves), "Bricks," the slow-burning, second single from the Gallerist’s “Great Escape,” brings hope to searchers and those who are lost. Undulating guitar joins with a sturdy backbeat to open the track and invite the possibility of earthly transformation. Harmonies merge like “triangulated signals” in the chorus before symbols crash and beckon a creative storm. Though elusive, on “Bricks” all is not lost, as swelling vocals punctuate the final verse of seaside searching and a steady rock outro leads us back to shore.
